Embracing Sustainability: The Dundee Landscape Project

We are delighted to share an exciting update on a project that is near and dear to our hearts – the Dundee Landscape Project. We have been diligently working with the Dundee-Memorial Park Association and the Dundee Business Improvement District (DBID) on a transformative landscape project to enhance the beauty and sustainability of our beloved neighborhood.

The landscaping "nodes" along Underwood Ave. have been a defining feature of our neighborhood for over a decade. While they have provided shade, character, and a sense of tranquility, it is time for a rejuvenation to ensure their long-term vitality. Collaborating with local experts, including the talented team at Kinghorn Gardens, we have crafted a new landscape design that draws inspiration from the renowned Piet Oudolf.

By embracing Oudolf's principles of native plantings and ecological responsibility, we aim to create a vibrant and pollinator-friendly environment that not only adds to the aesthetic appeal of Dundee but also promotes biodiversity and sustainability. This project is a testament to our commitment to preserving the essence of our community while embracing innovative solutions for the future.

To bring this vision to life, we are reaching out to our loyal supporters and neighbors for their help. We have set a fundraising goal of $125,000 to cover the design, installation, and first-year maintenance of the new landscape. We are grateful for the generous support of a local foundation that has already committed to providing a 50% challenge grant, and now we are seeking additional contributions to meet our target.

No donation is too small, as every contribution plays a crucial role in shaping the future of Dundee. Whether you consider yourself a Perennial, Garden Keeper, Prairie Flower, Seedling, or Grassroots supporter, your donation will make a tangible difference in our community. Your generosity will help us secure the necessary resources to make this project a reality and ensure that Dundee remains a thriving and vibrant neighborhood for generations to come.

If you wish to support the Dundee Landscape Project, you can donate online through the Dundee-Memorial Park Association website or by mailing your donation to:
